Sports Performance Testing

Athletes Deserve More Than a Timeline.
They Deserve a Plan.
Too often, return-to-sport decisions are based on time passed rather than physical readiness.
At In Motion Physical Therapy™, we use objective testing, performance benchmarks, and individualized progression to help determine when you're truly ready to return. Our goal isn't simply to get you back on the field—it's to help you return stronger, safer, and more confident than before.
Because returning to sport shouldn't be based on guesswork.
It should be earned.
What is Inmotion's Testing?
At In Motion Physical Therapy™, Return-to-Sport Testing is a structured assessment designed to evaluate whether an athlete is physically prepared to safely return to competition. Rather than relying solely on time since injury or surgery, we assess strength, balance, movement quality, power, coordination, and overall readiness.
This is not a treatment session—it's a performance evaluation that provides objective information about your recovery. Following testing, you'll receive a summary of your results and recommendations to help guide return-to-sport decisions for athletes, parents, coaches, physicians, and surgeons.
Our goal is simple: help ensure you're not only back in the game, but ready to perform with confidence.

Who is Inmotion Testing For?
If you've put in the work and want objective data to determine your readiness for activity, sport, or work, Return-to-Sport Testing is for you.
At In Motion Physical Therapy™, our testing is designed for athletes, active individuals, and working professionals who need more than a timeline—they need measurable results. Whether you're returning from injury, surgery, or simply want to establish a performance baseline, our testing helps determine if your body is ready for the demands ahead.
POST-OP ACL & KNEE
Objective testing following ACL reconstruction, meniscus repair, or other knee procedures to assess strength, symmetry, and readiness for return to activity.
POST-OP SHOULDER, HIP & ANKLE
Assess strength, balance, mobility, and functional performance following upper and lower extremity injuries and surgeries.
RUNNERS & ACTIVE ADULTS
Evaluate strength, movement quality, and performance following injury or extended time away from training before returning to running, fitness, or recreational activities.
ATHLETES
From youth sports to competitive athletes, testing helps identify deficits, measure recovery, and support safe return-to-play decisions.
How We Measure Performance
At In Motion Physical Therapy™, we don't rely on timelines or assumptions—we rely on objective data. Our performance testing utilizes advanced technology to measure strength, power, balance, and movement quality so we can make informed decisions about recovery and return to activity.
VALD ForceDecks
-Measure power output, force production, landing mechanics, and side-to-side asymmetries. These assessments provide valuable insight into how your body generates and absorbs force during movement.
Muscle Meter Dynamometry
-Objective strength testing used to identify muscle deficits, track progress throughout rehabilitation, and compare side-to-side performance.
OVR Assessment Technology
-Advanced movement analysis used to evaluate balance, coordination, reaction time, and overall movement performance to help determine readiness for sport and activity.
Functional Performance Testing
- Sport-specific and activity-based assessments designed to evaluate strength, control, confidence, and movement quality in the tasks that matter most to your recovery.
The result? Clear, measurable data that helps guide treatment, track progress, and support confident return-to-sport and return-to-activity decisions.
BASELINE PERFORMANCE
Establish performance benchmarks before a season, training cycle, or surgery to help track progress and guide future decision-making.
WORKERS' COMPENSATION & OCCUPATIONAL
Functional testing designed to assist return-to-work and job-duty decisions with objective data that employers, physicians, and case managers can utilize.
What Gets Measured?
Every performance testing session at In Motion Physical Therapy™ produces objective data across key areas of physical performance. Testing is customized to your injury, sport, activity, and goals.
STRENGTH
Objective strength testing helps identify deficits, track recovery, and compare side-to-side performance. We measure what your muscles can actually produce—not just how they feel.
SYMMETRY
Comparing one side of the body to the other helps identify imbalances that may increase injury risk or limit performance. Our goal is to restore confidence and capacity on both sides.
POWER & FORCE PRODUCTION
Using advanced force plate technology, we assess how efficiently your body produces and absorbs force during jumping, landing, and athletic movement tasks.
BALANCE & MOVEMENT CONTROL
Balance, coordination, stability, and movement quality are essential for both performance and injury prevention. These assessments help determine how well your body controls movement under real-world demands.
WE DON'T JUST WANT TO HELP YOU RECOVER. WE WANT TO HELP YOU STAY THERE.
One testing session can change the conversation. Instead of relying on timelines or assumptions, you'll have objective data that clearly shows where you are in your recovery and what comes next.
Whether you're an athlete, active adult, or recovering from surgery, our goal is to provide meaningful information that helps guide confident decisions about returning to sport, work, exercise, and life.
Performance Testing is available at In Motion Physical Therapy™.
The next step in rehabilitation. Objective data. Confident decisions. Better outcomes.
